AbiWord 3.0 is (finally) here!
|Just a quick mention for one of our favourite free software projects, which has seen its first major stable release since 2.8 back in 2009. Version 3.0 of this word processor brings support for Gtk 3, improved rendering performance, and a bucketload of bugfixes. Don’t be surprised if it doesn’t look particularly different to your current version, though — some distros have been shipping the 2.9.x development releases for a while.

I love Abiword, and I absolutely hate the way I can not seem to compile out RDF support which I have no need for. Should have been a plugin, IMO.
I have loved using abiword for nearly ten years way before I ever started using Linux at home. I am happy to see that this project has continued on. In fact, I install it on every machine I can, and I I tend to get it working on my Mac Pro using Wine.
