Grab a free Raspberry Pi!
|And also on a Raspberry Pi note, Remy van Elst got in touch to tell us about his rather cool idea:
“I’m starting a monthly free giveaway of RaspBerry Pi’s. Just because I can. And because I like the Raspberry Pi and how it motivates to tinker and learn new stuff. Few rules apply, people have to write down their idea, put it on a voting page and every month the 2 ideas with the most votes will get a Pi with a case, SD card and USB cable for free from me, including shipping.”
Remy has 24 to give away — find out more on his website.

My boy just found out about remote control cars and I keep reading about autonomous google car. I think with a bit of tweaking an old ahem "not bing" cellphone (GPS) and some small hours in the night we may concoct an auto driving course retracing fun four wheeling mayhem machine.
Vote for me!
I'm seriously thinking I could make a mini arcade out of the pi, I've got an icade cabinet that I used with my iPad and I already modded that with some custom buttons so I'm sure with a little work I could get the pi hooked up and a permanent screen attached,
While it may not be the most original use for a Pi I want to create a step by step tutorial, including video on using a Pi as a hardware firewall and a self contained web server.
Hi folks,
The link to Remi's website is giving a 404 Error. It should be: https://raymii.org/s/
I teach IT and Electronics classes three nights a week at a local community college and I would use the RPi to demonstrate non-traditional computers that can still run full-blown Linux. I eventually want to connect it to other RPi's and follow the work of the University of Southampton to create a Super-Computer (of sorts) that students can use to learn about Beowulf clusters.
